Ask any realtor worth his salt (or her apple pie air freshener) what the single-most important feature of a home's front elevation is and you will get the same answer -

the entryway

It is true - the front door is the plum in the pudding when it comes to curb appeal. It also commands attention in most home interiors. And of course the front door is responsible for a host of functional factors too: SECURITY, THERMAL REGULATION, SOUND ATTENUATION and as a BARRIER to weather, dust, insects and vermin. Finally, of course, it has to open and close - reliably and for the life of the home. Quite a task list! It's no wonder we door people wince when someone calls it a slab.
